Crossing Strings are a duo that, at first sight, couldn't be more different, in which two seemingly totally contrasting worlds clash together.
On the one hand, this duo consists of Carina Maria Linder, who dedicated herself to the classical guitar at the tender age of 8 and achieved considerable success in diverse international guitar competitions with the Cato Guitar Duo.
On the other hand Markus Schlesinger, who is an international touring fingerstyle guitar player, as well as the founder of the Vienna Fingerstyle Festival, supplements this duo with refined compositions in addition to the groovy arrangements of well-known songs.
Crossing Strings' debut album "Intersections" propels the crossover guitar duo directly to the forefront of the European fingerpicking scene.
The program of these professionals in their specific areas of expertise is a varied mix of self-arranged, classical, jazzy and popular songs, as well as buried and unearthed treasures and two voices, rounded off with impulsive intensity and playful ease. Through the bridge between two apparently contrary worlds, this duo manifests itself in a multifaceted symbiose of classic, jazz and pop music which introduce the audience to totally new and unknown musical spheres.
Workshop - The concert will be preceded by a workshop for 5-15 participants (2-5pm) - bookings essential.
