Multi-award winning Canadian 5‐piece world‐fusion ensemble announces their first Australian tour including Cygnet Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and Humph Hall! :-)
The Opposite of Everything consists of:
Jaron Freeman-Fox (violin)
John Williams (clarinet)
Robbie Grunwald (accordion)
Charles James (double bass)
Dan Stadnicki (drums)
Contorting the violin into new traditions, violinist/composer Jaron Freeman-Fox dances down the fine line between the beautiful and the absurd, while redefining what the violin is capable of.
Always on the move, Jaron has produced or played on over 40 albums and toured the world as a solo artist, front man and collaborator. With unique results, the Toronto-based musician has fused his fiddling roots with his study of jazz and Indian classical music.
“The Opposite of Everything” transforms Freeman-Fox’s intricate compositions into an infectious party.

“As a live band, they seem like they’d be well-nigh unstoppable . . . changing pace and styles on a dime but always with consummate musicality.”
“Together, they can slay any band, anywhere, anytime.”
“Jaron Freeman Fox & The Opposite of Everything electrified the Blue Skies stage. It was an instant dance party. The music was both challenging and superb. A definite highlight of the weekend. Jaron’s creativity and talents are simply amazing.”
"The hyper-kinetic Jaron Freeman-Fox is the Jimi Hendrix of the violin. With the chops of a classical virtuoso and the soul of a wild-eyed punk, he plays world music in the truest sense of the word, leaping from Gypsy to Klezmer to Celtic to Country without skipping a beat."
“Flat out fun. They would be an absolute trip live.”
