A Taste of Brazil comes to Humph Hall!

Humph Hall devotees are in for a treat as enigmatic duo "Salleh & Strazz" provide A Taste of Brazil - an exquisitely intimate night of bossa nova, jazz and samba.

Songstress Anna Salleh (pronounced ‘Sah-lay’) woos audiences with her vocal artistry and natural feel for the music of Rio de Janeiro, while maestro Guy Strazz's guitar sings with dazzling virtuosity and a deeply expressive, almost romantic strain.  Beyond 'The Girl from Ipanema', come on a deeper journey into the heart of Brazilian music ...and more.

Those who heard the brilliant Brazilian guitarist Chrystian Dozza in concert at Humph Hall recently will remember when Anna joined him at the end with her guitar and honey-smooth tones.  The video clips of Anna performing on this occasion with Chrystian Dozza will give you some idea of what to expect when she returns to Humph Hall in February with Guy Strazz.
Both Anna and Guy share a love for Brazilian music, which captivated Anna as a child and took her to Rio in 2010, where she explored the roots of bossa nova, and learned about samba and choro (originally an instrumental form of music that preceded samba). Guy has also loved and played this music since childhood and he's looking forward to performing it in the wonderful acoustics of Humph Hall.
Earlier this year ABC Radio National made a documentary 'Brazil Calling' about Anna's musical journey of discovery in Brazil.
