You are invited to an evening of songs, music & poetry that inspired courage and bravery in our soldiers that fought in the Great War for 'King & Country' and shaped our musical history from 1914 to today.
These songs & poems lifted the spirits of the people left behind in Australia and typified the Australian as an adventurous and 'happy-go-lucky' character. They will make you laugh, cry and wonder.
In addition to songs, poems & ditties from the time, the program will include contemporary material from the likes of Ted Egan, Eric Bogle, Judy Small, Sonia Bennett & Ian Hamilton.
This is a special event conceived by local school teacher Maureen Morcom and presented by Maureen together with instrumentalists & singers from Loosely Woven including Sonia Bennett & Ian Hamilton.
Admission free!
In addition to this performance at Humph Hall, the show will also presented at a number of other venues in Sydney and in Canberra & Wingello. See the 'For King & Country' page on the Loosely Woven web site for details.
