La Vida Apasionada
Vov Dylan & John Martin – In Concert
With Special Guest: Nicole Murray-Prior
Venue: Humph Hall
Humph Hall favourite Vov Dylan (violin) returns with a program of favourites and new classics, joined by acclaimed pianist John Martin and double bassist Nicole Murray-Prior.
The concert will feature a wide-ranging selection of music — from classical highlights to jazz standards, Broadway melodies to continental café tunes — all performed with humour, relatability and an invitation for audiences to sing and dance-a-long to the performers.
A major feature of the event will be a speciial performance of “La Vida Apasionada”, the new suite by Margaret Brandman, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Classical Charts in March 2025. This vibrant, rhythmic work showcases the trio in full flight.
Vov Dylan – The Violinist
Vov Dylan is a chart-topping violinist known for his versatility across classical, jazz, and crossover styles. With over 15 albums to his name and performances spanning concert halls, theatres, and broadcast media, he has become one of Australia’s most recognisable instrumental entertainers. Vov has premiered nearly 50 new Australian works since 2020, collaborating with leading composers including Elena Kats-Chernin, Margaret Brandman, and Ann Carr-Boyd.
Recognised for his musical talent from an early age, Vov made his television debut on ABC at just 11 years old. Since then, he has built an impressive career, appearing regularly on Australian stages, radio and television.
Described by The AU Arts Review as a “Superstar Violinist,” Vov has released multiple albums that have topped the ARIA Classical and Crossover charts. His 2022 album, Kismet: Vignettes for Violin and Piano, was Australia’s highest-selling classical album of 2022 and 2023, and his latest release, La Vida Apasionada (March 2025), also soared to the top of the ARIA charts on its first week of release.
Vov’s international touring experience includes performances to sold-out theatres across Australia, and Asia. A recent highlight saw him headlining to 15,000 people in Taiwan alongside Mary-Jess, the winner of X Factor China and the voice of Downton Abbey. He has appeared at iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House and has been nominated five years in a row for Australian Instrumental Entertainer of the Year.
Critics and audiences alike praise Vov for his charismatic stage presence, energy, and ability to connect with listeners. Fine Music FM described his concerts as “mischievous, charismatic, bubbling with energy…constantly surprising,” while others have compared his performances to those of André Rieu, noting his similar ability to entertain and engage with charm and humour.
